Charlotte Hornets Interview JJ Redick for Head Coaching Role

Former NBA Star JJ Redick

Pursuing Head Coaching Job

The Charlotte Hornets are interviewing former NBA guard JJ Redick for their head coaching position.

Redick, who retired from the NBA in 2021, has no prior coaching experience at the professional level. However, he has been a successful NBA player with over 1,500 games played and has been an analyst for ESPN since his retirement.

The Hornets are looking to replace former head coach James Borrego, who was fired after the team missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season.

Redick is not the only candidate the Hornets are interviewing. The team has also been linked to several other candidates, including former NBA coach Mike D'Antoni and former Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Jason Kidd.

The Hornets are hoping to name their new head coach before the start of the 2022-23 NBA season.
